Landmark Dividend LLC (“Landmark”) is a global leader in the acquisition, development, and management of the real estate and infrastructure in the wireless communications, digital infrastructure, outdoor advertising, and renewable power generation industries. Landmark acquires and manages properties that serve as the foundation for cell towers, billboards, solar projects, and wind turbines, as well as critical infrastructure assets including enterprise, colocation, cloud, wholesale, and retail data centers. 
 
Summary
The individual in this position will work directly with the Vice President - Tax, and other members of the Tax Department, as well as coordinate with other departments such as Accounting and Asset/Property Management to manage Landmark’s property tax process. As Landmark continues to acquire properties and build the portfolio, this individual will help improve and scale the property tax reporting and payment process through the use of updated processes, technology, and tools, use of outside vendors/consultants, etc. The role will require the individual to wear several different hats, and as such, is best suited for a person comfortable working in fast-paced and dynamic environments where strong communication skills are critical to success. 
 
Essential Functions 
  • Manage and process property tax payments where Landmark has primary responsibility for the tax obligation
  • Review and analyze tenant leases and purchase/sale agreements to confirm the responsibility for taxes
  • Coordination and communication with tenants and landowners to ensure the payment of taxes by the appropriate parties, and to seek reimbursement of taxes paid
  • Review and management of correspondence received from tax authorities including assessments, re-assessments, contesting valuations, tax liens, tax sales, etc. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments (i.e., accounting, legal, acquisitions, property/asset management, etc.) to fulfill tax reporting and payment obligations
  • Assist with building efficiencies and streamlining the property tax process, documentation, procedures, reporting, and other various Tax Department initiatives
  • Ability to research and analyze property tax technical positions and experience reviewing and interpreting tax laws, statutes, regulations, rulings, etc. 
  • Coordination with outside tax advisors on technical issues and assistance, as needed
  • Support the Tax Department in additional ad hoc capacities
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and critical thinking
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with Yardi a plus
  • Experience with tax reporting/monitoring software is a plus
  • Strong management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work with limited supervision and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting and in a fast-paced environment
 
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, in accounting, tax, or related area
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a property tax role
  • Telecom or data center experience a plus
