Weidner Property Management is now hiring for a Commercial Leasing Associate!  We are looking for someone who will be responsible for all leasing functions, which includes reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements.  This position will work out of our corporate offices in Kirkland, WA and report to the Senior Vice President of Finance.

This position is responsible for all leasing functions, which includes reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements. The Commercial Leasing Associate oversees the construction of the Tenants’ suites, which necessitates the coordination of third-party individuals and contractors. The Commercial Leasing Associate oversees completion of all necessary paperwork and ensures proper customer service. Responsible for the productivity and budgetary performance of the leasing operations within the commercial department. Additionally, the Commercial Leasing Associate develops and implements policies and procedures to improve efficiency and profitability of the department and monitors competitive trends in the marketplace.

Performance – Setting New Standards . . .

  • Assist in the day-to-day operational management of commercial properties consistent with policies, procedures, budgets, and business plans.
  • Responsible for all leasing functions, includes reviewing and negotiating lease transactions and agreements.
  • Manage annual rent increases/escalations by monitoring lease renewals.
  • Work with the Finance & Acquisitions to ensure that the commercial department accomplishes the strategic objectives set by senior management.
  • Oversee retail and office leasing functions throughout the portfolio nationwide.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with retail/office leasing brokers.
  • Manage commercial leasing of office and retail space in all Weidner regions nationwide; overseeing tenant improvements, lease renewals. Develop and maintain relationships with current and future commercial tenants.
  • Oversee the tenant improvement process, which includes but is not limited to the following: approving the design of the space with the tenant’s architect, tracking the permit status with the local jurisdiction, ensuring the tenant has the necessary insurance, and aggressively pushing the project delivery with the general contractor and project manager.
  • Coordinate with in-house development team to align tenant leases with pending development plans.
  • Responsible for developing and implementing lease renewal and tenant retention programs.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree with Finance or Real Estate emphasis.
  • Experience in CRE, leasing or related industry a plus.
  • Strong analytical and abstract reasoning skills.
  • Internal and external customer service and negotiation skills are a priority.
  • Possess strong operational and financial skill set.
  • Must agree to a criminal background check and sign an agreement for voluntary drug testing.
  • Valid and current driver’s license.
  • Valid and current passport.
  • Willingness to travel regularly.
