CRE Finance Analyst

Analyst Position

Overview:

An underwriting analyst at Argentic is exposed to all aspects of commercial real estate finance, including both fixed-rate (CMBS) and floating-rate (Bridge) transactions. The analyst will be expected to work closely with all members of their team and other members of the firm, while managing multiple projects.  The analyst will also be expected to possess strong quantitative, analytical and communication skills, as well as, be a team player with initiative and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities:

• Work on all aspects of commercial lending due diligence and underwriting processes
• Assist with the underwriting of prospective loans; including sizing models, compiling market statistics and analyzing leasing activity information, comparative sales information and other relevant market data
• Evaluating loan requests; analyzing credit quality of cash flow operations of CRE properties and integration of data-sets
• Understanding of rent rolls, operating statements, tax returns and other financial statements, along with the ability to perform detailed cash flow analyses
• Conduct detailed economic and market research
• Assist teams in the closing process; including in-depth due diligence review of collateral and borrower’s credit quality, coordinating and reviewing reports with third party vendors, preparing credit review memorandum and other presentations, and presenting loans to the credit team for approval
• Ability to manage multiple deals in various stages of the deal life-cycle
• Conduct site inspections

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Mathematics preferred
• Advanced Excel skills together with a proficiency in Word is required; knowledge of Argus and PowerPoint a plus
• Knowledge of basic analytical ratios
• Ability to analyze financial statements
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong analytical and problem solving skills; attention to detail; and ability to multi-task
• Experience with the CRE lending, including CMBS, is a plus
• Must be highly motivated, an independent worker within a team-oriented culture. Ability to work closely with others as well independently to produce accurate, detailed work
• Familiarity with market analytical tools: Bloomberg, Costar, Trepp , and REIS a plus
• Willingness to travel for site inspections
