POSITION:  Legal and Loan Administration Manager 

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Legal and Loan Administration Manager will work directly with house counsel to draft legal documents, process new loans, assist in escrow closings related to the acquisition and disposition of properties for the firm’s national industrial portfolio, and coordinate investor relations.  This position requires a flexible individual, comfortable in a fast paced and dynamic environment.  They will also liaise with the Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing and Acquisition/Disposition Teams.  This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing, privately-held firm in the hottest asset class (industrial) in commercial real estate. This position is located at the firm’s corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Reviewing and summarizing various legal documents and correspondence, including purchase agreements, leases, subleases, amendments, and assignments.
  • Assisting in the formation of new legal entities and tracking their annual renewals.
  • Participating in document preparation and due diligence activities for a variety of industrial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, new loans and refi’s, with specific emphasis on escrow closings and title review.
  • Helping various departments comply and adhere to partnership agreements, operating agreements, leases, loan documents and other regulatory requirements.
  • Working with investors and their representatives to insure proper documentation of their investments and satisfaction in their relationship to the firm.
  • Preparing and organizing reports to investors and management.
  • Obtaining and renewing business permits, licenses and other documents required by governmental agencies. 
  • Assisting with the orientation of new employees, including organization of health insurance and retirement plan benefits, tax documentation, and payroll set up.
  • Other duties as assigned 


QUALIFICAITONS AND SKILLS:

  • Four-year college degree in law, business, finance, real estate, or related field is preferred, but not required if the applicant has the necessary experience.
  • Experience with real estate acquisition, disposition and financing is strongly preferred (i.e., working in an escrow/title department or a law firm), but is also not required.
  • Effective at managing multiple projects in an environment with rapidly changing deal-driven priorities.
  • Outstanding written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • A self-starter with the ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments, while delivering consistent, quality work product to management, investors and other outside parties.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience using Apple Mac's is a plus.
