This individual will be directed by the Director of Acquisitions to execute and manage for the acquisition of land parcels and existing affordable, student and market rate housing. The primary focus of this position is to research, evaluate, assess and coordinate the execution of acquisition opportunities. This individual will be supported by the Michaels Acquisitions Team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain pipeline management software of On Radar, Sizing, Investigation, Pursuit, and Under Contract of acquisitions.
  • Perform extensive financial modeling on potential acquisitions and developments.
  • Perform various tasks related to market research including sales comps, lease comps, and maps.
  • Develop working knowledge of leases, purchase and sale agreements, letters of intent and other third party financial and legal reports.
  • Assist in due diligence process by gathering, organizing, and reviewing property specific information.
  • Prepare Investor, Lender, Due Diligence and Investment Committee presentations
  • Correspond with brokers, attorneys, lenders, investors, and consultants.
  • Period travel is required.

Qualifications:

Required Experience: 

  • One to five years experience in investment sales, acquisitions, asset management, or accounting in the housing space.

Required Education/Training: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field is required.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • The candidate must have the ability to meet deadlines, work independently, perform multiple tasks and possess the interpersonal skills necessary to navigate the demands of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • The candidate must have strong organizational skills, mathematical and analytical skills and communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Attention to detail and computer skills (including Word and Excel) are also necessary.
